Every time I look at the Philippine Map I always see a figure of a dog on a sitting position, from then on I associate the location of a province or island to a dog's body parts to help me familiarize the country geographically. 2 weeks ago I checked the map again to look where La Union is exactly located, surprisingly it's at the tip of the dog's nose.

Surfing dude
Just last weekend five of my workmates went to La Union for some R&R. Three days worth of rest and relaxation to be exact. Our plan was just to surf and lounge by the beach but turns out to be more than that.We started our day early by riding the bus bound to Ilocos. You may also take a bus bound to Abra. Our first destination: San Juan, La Union.
Headless Water Riders
Since we reached San Juan late afternoon, we've decided to try surfing the next morning, but let Mike try it out first since he'll be leaving for Cagayan the same day to visit his family. Seeing Mike in action created more excitement and anticipation to try it out the following day. The cost of an hour of surf lesson as of writing is around 350-400 Php, it includes a surf board and personal instructor.
Aside from surfing and people watching, I went out to shoot and practice some long exposure, 'cause I really want that smoke effect of the water...anyhow here is the result.

One more thing, I find food in San Juan a bit expensive, so if your in a group better share the expenses.

At the rocky side of San Juan
Also, if your dinning at Sebay, order your food ahead of time 'cause it will take about 30-45 mins. for the food to be serve.
We ended our day earlier than expected but found ourselves looking for a store selling any food on the wee hours of the night. Good thing there was a beach party that night so it's easier to buy some food and booze.
