6 Long Days in China: Shanghai & Beijing

I've been waiting for this trip for almost a year, yes a year folks! We booked a flight to Shanghai, China last April 2010 with the travel date of March 10-15. I would like to share our itinerary and the adventures and misadventures that happened to us during the whole 6 days. But I'll blog about it on a different post. For the meantime here's what materialized on our planned itinerary:

Day 0 - March 10

* Meet at NAIA Termnal 3; ETD 8:30 PM

Well that didn't happened flight was delayed for 2 hours

* ETA 2:00 AM

Landed in an empty Shanghai Pudong International Airport Termnal 2. It was 5 degrees outside.

Day 1 - March 11

* Check in at Captain Hostel at Fuzhuo Road, The Bund.

The first day was very interesting specially how our day 1 ended. Tell you more about it.

* Went out to visit the following in order: People's Park, Shanghai Museum, Yunan Garden, Old French Concessioner, Night shoot at The Bund and the view of towering buildings of Shanghai at Pudong

* Hop in the night train to Beijing at Hongqiao Railway station.ETD 9:45 PM

That was new for me. Worth your money, one should try it. The train station was awesome. Hope we have one of those.

Day 2 - March 12

* ETA 7:30 AM, Welcome to Beijing. 4 degrees baby!

* Check in at Leo Hostel

* Went out to visit the following in order: Tienanmen Square, Forbidden City, Wang Fu Jing street (Beijing's answer to Nanjing Market in Shanghai).

Day 3 - March 13

* Woke up early morning, visited the following in order: Temple of Heaven, Badaling Great Wall, Olympic Village

Yahoo! saw the Great Wall, 1 out of 7 of the Wonders of the World.

* Hop in the night train going to Shanghai at Beijing South Train station. ETD 9:46 PM

Train station is better in Shanghai than Beijing.

Day 4 - March 14

* ETA 7:30 AM

* Leave baggage at Hiker Youth Hostel

* Went to Zhujijao Ancient Town, then back to Nanjing Market

* Check out at hostel. Went to Shanghai Pudong International Airport Terminal 2. ETD

That airport was huge! it's like Terminal 1,2,3 and Diosdado Macapagal Airport combined.

Day 5 - March 15

* ETA 4 AM. Back to the Philippines with a 25 degrees temperature.

I love warm weather but it's nice to experience winter once in a while. I've cross out experiencing Winter on my list thought I have yet to see snow...now where to look for snow? LOL.

i love your photos.i wish i had a better camera and patience to take photos.i didnt plan on creating a blog at first so photos ko pangfacebook calibre lang talaga. we went to the same places in beijing i also went there march (of this year).ilang days binigay sa yo ng embassy?i wanna go back there pag magsnow,kaya ko naman pala ang lamig. i agree with what you said na walking in beijing is a different story,imagine i walked from "the egg",then forbidden city" then jingshan park".

hi juneey, we booked out train tickets ahead of time my travel buddies have friends based in Shanghai kaya nakapagpabili kami mga 2 days before the actual train ride. Nung time na yun Php 1460 sya one way.
